How it all began...
The Emerald Empire has been established since 1993.
Starting on a relationship, it all began as a simple question. Would you like to sell Colombian Emeralds? We had not previously thought about the idea and from that day on, we knew God had a plan for us and it had something to do with these gorgeous green gemstones.
We call that Day ...A Divine Appointment...
We were on a mission trip at the time with our church to help establish a work beginning in the heart of Bogotá Colombia, The Hope House Orphanage. The Orphanage has since relocated to a more rural area just on the outskirts of Bogotá with much more room and a local
school for the orphaned boys to attend. The boys have been clothed, fed, loved, educated, and most importantly taught about the Kingdom of God. One of the boys has been a big brother to the younger ones, and also a teacher in helping the older boys develop a skill in making baked goods and selling them. The story of their lives is something most of us will never experience in our lifetime. It is a wonderful thing seeing them thrive in their culture and no
longer on the streets hungry, unloved, or left for dead. God has restored them and they are a testimony of what God will do.

The integrity of this company is of our utmost priority. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to continuing to expand what God has begun.
Excerpt: Jason's Story
Plan A for Jason (not his real name) was for him to be born into a loving Christian family. He would have been nurtured, disciplined, hugged, taught and valued every day of his life.
What occurred though was very different. Jason lives in a room, one room, and all day every day with only a television to keep him company. His bed – a mat thrown on top of some old crates. His mother works everyday from 6am to 9:30pm and when she is home relates to her children with curses and fits. So that is how Jason learned to relate to his world. His siblings were taken into a children’s ministry when they were less than on year old and adapted well to the change. However, Jason was 4 when he was taken in and quickly became the #1 problem for the staff. Such was his level of neglect that Jason did not even know how to speak when he arrived and his way of communicating his displeasure was to bite anyone and everyone in his path. read more...
